Commercial refrigeration systems for food retailers and trade

Some 50 per cent of the energy consumption in a food retail outlet goes to refrigeration. Given the major steps achieved in increasing energy efficiency in commercial refrigeration systems, it pays to modernise your existing equipment or to replace it with high-efficiency systems. Another factor here is the withdrawal of the HCFC refrigerant R 22, the production of which has been banned in the EU since 1 January 2010 and whose use is banned from 2015.

Hafner Muschler will continue in future to offer medium and low-temperature systems with synthetic refrigerants, but recommends the use of natural coolants for environmental reasons. The modular construction developed by Hafner-Muschler means that plants can be replaced "according to plan" when a renewal is necessary anyway.
